A redesign and site migration for a leader in early childhood math

Erikson Institute’s Early Math Collaborative supports educators nationwide with research, training and resources for early childhood math instruction. Through professional development, research and thought leadership, the Collaborative advances a deeper understanding of how young children learn foundational math.

The Early Math team came to Orbit in need of a redesign and migration effort to a dedicated subdirectory within the main Erikson.edu website.

The challenge

A complex site with technical debt and unclear structure

The original Early Math website lived on a separate subdomain with years of legacy content and outdated design. The site was in need of some major updates for improved technical health and UX. Other goals included:

  • A seamless transition to the main Erikson.edu structure
  • Cleanup of over 800 posts and broken functionality
  • Simplified navigation and clearer content hierarchy
  • Improved content strategy for educators and stakeholders

The solution

A content-first build and strategic replatform

Orbit led a full redesign and replatform, migrating the Collaborative into a new subdirectory while preserving SEO and streamlining UX. Wins included:
