Share access to your analytics tools

Access to your Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Search Console will help us conduct research for your new sitemap, key pages, keyphrase and conversion research, and pretty much everything else we do.

If you use any of these tools, please add [email protected] as an administrator to your accounts.

Why are you giving us access to your Google Accounts?

Getting us access early helps us make better recommendations sooner on the project.

Traffic analysis

We start on analyzing your current website traffic as soon as your proposal is signed and we use the data to help with decision-making throughout the project.

Settings check

We check the configuration settings of each tool to ensure the data is accurate. We document unique findings, and we may recommend or make small changes to improve reporting.

Post-launch measurement

Want to know how your website performs after launch? We do! Ultimately, our goal is to report good data in comparison to current performance a few months post-launch of the new website.

Step-by-step instructions

Google Analytics

Assuming you already have an account, login to Google Analytics

  1. Click Admin at the bottom left of the page
  2. Select Account Access Management
  3. Click the blue + symbol at the top right of the page and click Add users
  4. Enter [email protected]
  5. Select Administrator
  6. Click Add

NOTES

  • We prefer administrator level access because the other permission settings prevent us from managing goals, data retention settings, events, custom reports, and other critical features like the ability to connect it with your other Google Accounts.
  • If you do not yet have a Google Analytics account or it is not yet active, we recommend you create an account and talk with your current website hosting provider to get it added. Don’t worry, we have instructions for this, too!
