Chemistry is about understanding the tiny things that come together to make up the world. U of C’s new Department of Chemistry website used those same principles.

Any new website has to take disparate parts to make up the whole. When designing the new site for the renowned Department of Chemistry at the University of Chicago, we had to take into account all the different audiences that would visit. By allowing for an easy navigation, the site facilitated education, conversation, and awareness.

We used four primary headers to quickly sort the audiences into broad categories based on most-likely personas, but created two other navigation bars to create an easy way to find different information. All of this was funneled toward contact buttons in the footer, hoping to get more people involved with the Department.

We’re happy that everything came together for the University of Chicago’s new site. You could say it was…chemistry.
