How Can We Help? Let’s Talk!
Is Orbit Media Studios Hiring Freelancers? Beware of Scams!
At Orbit Media Studios, we pride ourselves on being a reputable, Chicago-based web design company, committed to providing high-quality digital services to our clients. Unfortunately, we have recently become aware of fraudulent activity where individuals and groups from various countries, including Russia, Ukraine, and the Philippines, are posing as recruiters for Orbit Media Studios.
What you need to know:
- We are NOT hiring freelancers: Orbit Media Studios does not hire freelancers, either in the United States or abroad. We are a full-service agency with a dedicated in-house team. We do not operate internationally or have affiliations with any recruitment agencies.
- NO overseas recruiting: We do not have any operations outside the United States, and we do not actively recruit for any position, including freelance or remote work.
- NO recruitment for other companies: If you have been contacted by someone claiming to represent Orbit Media Studios, they are not affiliated with us in any way. These individuals may be using our company name to lure you into fraudulent schemes.
Fraudulent contacts:
We have been informed that the following individuals are claiming to represent Orbit Media Studios:
- Gisele Larose – [email protected]
- Roman Tyurin – Telegram @tyurinrom95
- Telegram @volginevrom89
- Rodney Erickson – [email protected] (from “The Orbit Media Agency”)
- Anastasia Bulatova – [email protected]
These individuals are using platforms like Behance and Telegram to contact unsuspecting professionals. Candidates were asked to submit resumes to [email protected]. They may claim to offer lucrative freelance opportunities or remote work but are ultimately trying to exploit you.
How to recognize the scam:
Here are some red flags to watch out for:
- Too good to be true offers: If you receive a job offer that sounds too good to be true, especially one that promises immediate employment without a formal interview process, it’s likely a scam.
- Requests for personal information or fees: Fraudulent recruiters may ask for personal information, payment for training or certification, or access to your accounts. Orbit Media Studios will never ask you to pay for anything related to your employment.
- Strange requirements: If you are asked to provide a certificate from a specific English language school or pay for a certification that seems unrelated to your qualifications, it is a red flag. We do not require specific certificates for freelance or remote opportunities.
What should you do if you’ve been contacted?
If you’ve been contacted by someone claiming to be a recruiter for Orbit Media Studios, please take the following steps:
- Do not respond: Do not engage further with the person who contacted you.
- Do not share personal information: Never share personal details, bank information, or payment for any certification.
- Report the scam: If you believe you’ve been contacted by a scammer, report the incident to the platform (e.g., Behance, Telegram) or to local authorities.
- Contact us directly: If you have any doubts or concerns, feel free to contact us directly. We are happy to clarify any misinformation and ensure you’re not falling victim to a scam.
What Orbit Media Studios does:
- Web design & development: We specialize in custom web design, development and digital marketing for businesses across various industries.
- No freelance recruiting: We do not actively recruit freelancers or remote workers for any positions.
Stay safe and protect yourself:
Scammers are becoming more sophisticated in their efforts to deceive talented professionals. We encourage you to be cautious when receiving unsolicited offers, especially those that seem too good to be true. If you’re ever unsure whether a communication is legitimate, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Thank you for your vigilance, and we appreciate your understanding as we work together to prevent scams that misuse our company’s name.
