We’re looking for a passionate designer with both UX and UI skills to add to our team.
Orbit Media is an award-winning web design and development company based in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. But, you can work from anywhere. This can be a remote position.
Since 2001, we’ve been designing and building beautiful, audience-centric, optimized websites for a huge variety of clients in nearly every industry. We’re proud to be one of the first Illinois B Corps with deep roots in our community. We have fun and do great work. And we’d love for you to be a part of it.
Designing websites! There’s a bit more to it than that, but really, that’s the job.
Our designers work and present directly with clients. They focus on creating results-driven, user-friendly websites that beautifully bring brands to life online. They get to juggle multiple projects at a time.
They create wireframes, design concepts, and full-page designs for all unique features of a project. Oh yeah, lots of Sketch artboards. They collaborate with copywriters and put added emphasis on key conversion designs. On some projects, they design in browser and get into CSS code using our modular WordPress sandbox. Occasionally, we even stretch our creativity out to branding, video, and SVG animation. Whatever it takes to deliver the best possible site within scope.
Our designers put a strong focus on content strategy, conversion optimization, UX and usability on all projects. They work closely with their project teams on this stuff and utilize the other designers for inspiration, feedback and refinement. We’re a collaborative bunch.
Designers at Orbit aren’t focused on one niche of a website, they are the driving force behind it.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Our Commitment to an Inclusive Workplace: Orbit Media provides equal employment opportunity to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
What does it mean to be an Orbiteer? It means being an integral part of building beautiful conversion-oriented websites that deliver genuine results for our clients. It means being able to be creative while working on small teams. It means never being siloed.
It means getting to be yourself.
We hire people at Orbit so that you can do your best work. You have input at every stage of a project, and your fingerprints are all over it. We love working with each other, we share credit and laughter, and we get better because we get along. It’s pretty nice.
Becoming an Orbiteer means being driven to build something, and having the freedom to make it your own.
