Support Web Developer

Orbit has built hundreds of sites over the years, with good planning and clean code.  Although many of these were built years ago, we are still committed to great results for our clients.  As times change, we help them adapt by improving their websites.  We also support our clients with any issues they may be having.

We are now reaching out to find a new member for the Orbit team.  This is an opportunity to take on this role of support and development.

Maintain and Enhance Existing Sites

  • Maintenance on primarily web sites (OMS Mighty-Site®) and some Flash development.
  • Account and template setup for Email Delivery Services like Constant Contact.
  • Analyze website results using Google Analytics.
  • Report to Account Managers, Web Developers and occasionally Project Managers with updates, suggestions, and answers to some technical questions.
  • Mentor and train interns and new team members to insure their growth in functional skills.
  • Track time and tasks in Sputnik, Orbit's project management system.

Production support on new website projects.

  • Assist in development on primarily web sites and some Flash development.

Client Technical Support.

  • Help clients with technical/administrative issues regarding the use of Mighty-Site®.
  • Provide short training sessions for Clients for Mighty-Site® and Constant Contact.

Competencies include:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS and any software required to develop web sites and Flash applications including basic level expertise with Javascript, Actionscript. Basic application of PHP/MySQL/XML integration.
  • Continuing education on software and industry trends.
  • Ability to complete delegated deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Competency in email marketing programs (production/delivery)
  • Competency in integration of embedded code on websites from 3rd parties like Google Analytics.
  • Estimate time or quotes for enhancements/maintenance
  • Ability to commincate technical issues in simple terms

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree. Computer Science degree a plus.
  • 1-2 years in web site development position.
