The Chicago Foundation for Education is on a mission to find the best teachers, and to grant them the resources they need to create great lessons. A second part of the mission is to share the best lesson plans with educators everywhere. The right site would make of these two critical components easier. Easier for teachers and easier for the foundation.
The first component of the site connects the foundation with possible grantees.
Teachers with great ideas apply for grants. Applications are collected and assigned to categories based on grade level and topic. The site manages these many hundred of applications and keeps them organized as they move through the process at the foundation. Review, qualify, and ultimately issue grants to the winning applicants.
The second part of the site connects any teacher anywhere to the growing pool of the great lesson plans collected.
Visitors can browse or search a database. View lesson details, see how they align with state standards and download materials. Orbit took the time to carefully plan the interconnected pieces of both of these two halves, and conceived a process that connected the various elements with a streamlined workflow. Finally, a clean design and organized execution make the entire project a positive success.
Lots of sites help with promotion and marketing. But there is another class of website that actually fulfill the mission of the company its built for: connecting people with resources and resources with people!
