Save For Web – Color Shift in Photoshop Fix!

Oh man ~ today my buddy Kurt sent me a great link that I have to share with you! He found it on Viget Lab’s BlogThe Mysterious “Save For Web” Color Shift by Doug Avery. You absolutely have to read this short tutorial and use it today – esp if you are doing web design. For the past 5 years or so I’ve been slightly annoyed and irritated by the fact that the vivid colors I’ve tried to achieve will not translate exactly when saving for the web in Photoshop. Well, here’s the answer…Adobe has a couple of preset options set in Photoshop that can be switched up for optimal web saving sweetness. Maybe it seems silly, but I’m thrilled. :)

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jason Santa Maria and saw his presentaion at An Event Apart:Chicago He had a really great message about graphic design on the web that struck me. He said, “design can’t not communicate,” (a quote from David Carson). It made me think about how a lot of people out there are cranking out website after website in an assembly line style.
